Training Class.

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

I was in a training class today. The material does not matter, nor does who was sponsoring the class. All I am going to say is that it was on a Microsoft product. It seems to me that the people in these training classes have a wide array skills. Some have less and some have more. I am not contending I am smart. I try hard, and that may be all I have going. That being said I like what I do and I have a general thirst for knowledge around what I do. I like writing code and try to learn how to do it better. I enjoy fixing servers and I try to learn how to do it better. A paycheck that is more than driving truck(I think) and low barrier to enter is why some people are into the computer business. Tody in the training class somebody threw this question out “When is Microsoft going to fix every dialog so it does not say apply and ok when they do the same thing.” This fellow was not joking.

I love the Internets.

Tonight I was a GreenMill restaurant in a hotel. I was grabbing a bite to eat and sitting at the bar. There was a Twins game from 2007 being replayed as a Twins classic. It was apparent by the 6th inning the classic part was Scott Baker attempting to throw a no hitter. I remember the game, but I could not remember if Scott Baker completed the no hitter. What is a brother to do in this case? Break out is Sprint Mogul and Google Scott Baker no hitter. I had my answer in seconds. Scott Baker lost his not hit bid in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2 outs. I love the Internets.

East Bound and Down.

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

The East Bound and Down episode was strange. We only have one other episode to judge this one against, but the first week show was a lot better. What was the deal with the bartender getting high with the homeless people? Last week he clearly had a job, and this weeks character would have had a hard time keeping one. The music teacher seemed retarded in this episode too. Very strange.
