Windows 7 Beta and 512 meg of ram.

It is impressive I am able to use Windows 7 Beta with 512 meg of ram on Vmware and the machine is very usable. I do not think I would be able to do that with Vista. I just rebooted the machine and switched to a bridged Vmware network.

Windows 7 Beta comes with PowerShell version 2. I am a big fan of PowerShell. I have lots of bash experience, and while PowerShell is not perfect, it is better than any other shell on the Windows platform.
